If you are looking for 5 star accommodation with very helpful,, informative owners, then go to %26#39;The Farmhouse%26#39;, Moreau, 17170 Cercouux, Charente-Maritime. Its peaceful and tranquil, with an excellent restaraunt 5 mins drive away. Within reach of St. Emilion - great place to visit. Would highly recommend staying at this accommodation.

We stayed with them over xmas and they were absolutely superb. They have two 3-bedroom cottages and one 1-bedroom cottage. The accommodations are beautifully renovated barns with exposed brick work and fireplaces. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous and they provide bicycles. They are close to Cognac, St. Jean D%26#39;Angely and La Rochelle. I could not think of a more idyllic setting and the prices are unbeatable.
