Have you been to this campsite ? What do you think ? One review I read on a different site said that all the childrens club activities were not on site, but you had to go down a busy road ?

Have just got back this saturday from point st gilles ,absolute dump very disappointed and left early due to general lack of both reps,activities but the worst was the cleanliness of the place worse in the toilet blocks they stank constantly,mixed toilet and shower blocks which i did,nt like very much,would,nt have been happy if i had taken my fifteen year old daughter,saying that we did go out of %26quot;season%26quot; but if they can,t keep it clean when theres only 200 peple there what happens in the summer when theres 600!!!,if you don,t come before the last week in august there is NO entertainment/kids club/life guard for the pool etc and if you find a rep they usually are not interested and if you do manage to get any info it was wrong,also if you have kids there is just one play park on the whole site with just four swings a slide and a seesaw so it a case of survival of the fitest if you kids want to play and the fast food place which shut betwwen8-9pm at night was slow and cold on both food and attitude, the area and people are fantastic so don,t let this horrible place put you off...ps not a fussy person was in the army and had better nights out on training lol.

We went there 4 or 5 years ago in August. The kids clubs were a couple of minutes walk from the park entrance. It was more of a gravel track than a road if I remember correctly and it certainly wasn%26#39;t busy.
Park was OK we went with Keycamp and had a caravan so didn%26#39;t encounter the problems with toilets and showers that some people have complained about.
Bar was too small for the site and you couldn%26#39;t move in there when there was entertainment on!

Just got back after a 10 day stay with Canvas holidays at Pointe st Gilles.
I have to say that myself ,my wife and my two sons (16) and (13) had a wonderfull holiday.
The reps (Clarissa and Martyn) couldnt have been more welcoming, and were very efficient, dealing promptly and proffesionally with an small problems we had. This couple actually live in the area in the close season and are therefore very knowledgeable on the local area.
I couldnt help but notice that the reps from other companies i.e Keycamp, Eurocamp etc were very young.
Contary to some previous reviews, we found the campsite to be clean and reasonably well maintained. The bar area is on the small side and is relatively expensive and poorly stocked.
The take away is best to be avoided!!!
Location is key here,with the site only yards away from a pleasant beach and a view over the very pretty bay of Benodet.
Quimper is well worth a visit as is the sports shop called Decathlon
-not like a UK equivalent - selling everything from diving gear through to fishing,kayaks and bikes.
My only grump was that the pool was on the cold side.

We stayed here last year and found the take away very good with a different special each day. What is the problem this year? we are there in Sept and were looking foreward to some tasty meals.

Just returned from La Pointe St Gilles Benodet
Found the site a great base for walking to Benodet and other bays
We have three children 15,14,%26amp;11, they all enjoyed the holiday and want to go back next year.
