Need a central hotel budget 160euro per night

Hi all

Im going to Paris in April. I have walking difficulties and get tired easily. Could anyone suggest a hotel or name a good area to stay where I would be close to most sites.

Also would 3 or 4 nights be best. We dont want to have to rush around to much but did not know if 4 nights would be to much.

Any help would be great.

FOUR nights is barely enough, especially since you can%26#39;t be rushing about.

Many good hotels in your price range in 4th 5th or 6th arrondissmont( zip code ending in 04, or 05, or 06, listed in most hotel addresses, so 75006 is 6th etc. )

Try looking on side of this page, click on Hotels and Accomadations , start scrolling down list, or enter more search data .

Start now, good hotels fill easily since many are so small 20-30 rooms.

I contact hotels directly by googling names after I find them on this site.

I have booked three places in Paris this way and been happy, trying another one this July, Hotel Eugenie as the area is very central. Also like Hotel Le Regent for being central but rooms were small and price was a bit higher.

Read this board, you will often see the same dozen or so hotel names pop up frequently as being highly recommended in your price range.

PS Alway make sure hotel has an elevator , one stars often do not but I assume ( but am not sure if required ) two stars will.

Hotel Muguet near the Eiffel Tower has a lift and is 135euro for 2 people. It%26#39;s also near a metro stop. I%26#39;ll be staying there in April based on the good reviews here and on other sites. I have stayed in 3 different areas over the years and as long as you are in central Paris, near a Metro, you can%26#39;t go wrong. Good luck!!!

Joan1 and lmd15 thanks for your help.

One of the important things is having a good bed to sleep on hate to end up in a hotel with a dodgy one. (due to my degenerative discs.) We will tend to go out about 10.30ish for 5 hours go back to hotel for rest then go back out again about 6 for another couple hours

Thanks again.

Dear Bubbly-Bubbles:

I can recommend the Relais du Louvre, which is next door to the Louvre, and in the 1st Arr. It is close to the Seine, and so very central. It also has a lift/elevator. When we stayed there, it was about 150 Euros a night.

I can also recommend the Hotel le Verneuil, which is technically (I think) in the 7th, but on the border of the 6th. Arr. It is 2 blocks from the Seine, and about a 10 minute walk, or less, to the Muse D%26#39;Orsay. Again, very central, and it, too, has a lift/elevator.

Bon chance and bon voyage!

I agree with Linda, Hotel Muguet is the place to stay.

You are very close to shops, restaurants, Rue Cler, and between two Metro Stops. Also it is a very quiet area.

The deluxe rooms at the hotel give you both more space %26amp; a larger bathroom, so you may be interested

I looked at the reviews on trip advisor for Hotel Muguet and they are positive however the last one says not uitable for disabled visiors would you know what they mean by this.

I can%26#39;t imagine why a reviewer would not find the Muguet unsuitable for a person with disabilities. My wife and a friend (girls trip-no husbands invited) spent a week there in the fall of 2006. She has a titanium rebuild in her knee and is very sensitive to problems. She says there were no concerns and recommends it because it is quiet and close to the metro/bus lines.

In fact the metro has only one flight of stairs from the platform to street level- handy after a tiring trot around the sights.

Enjoy your trip. Have dinner at Florimond. You will pass it on your way to the metro.

A week would be best. Try Hotwire.com for a **** star hotel.

|||

Thanks for advice I tried hotwire.com.You choose a star and area and pay unfortunately they do not tell you the name of the hotel until you have paid.

|||

True, just choosing a price and star and location on their opaque site may result in an unsuitable hotel but if you go to pricelines viewed site, not bidding, you can see what they are going for, for your dates. Biddingfortravel will give you the winning bids and dates for the specific hotel you%26#39;re trying to win. You can really narrow down the possibilities but there are no guarantees but still much more affordable.
