One Way Air fare

My parents will be taking the Queen Mary 2 to London in April and then traveling on to Paris for 3 - 4 months and using Paris for their base while traveling Europe.

We%26#39;re looking for a one way air fare to get back to Los Angeles or New York, probably in August. Does anyone know of any charter airlines or inexpensive airlines to return to the states? I%26#39;ve looked into Globespan for them from London, but was wondering if there were any others. They%26#39;ll have train passes and are willing to depart from somewhere other than Paris, if the price is right!

Thanks for your help!

Sorry I can%26#39;t help with suggestions for airlines, but I thought I%26#39;d offer one thing to keep in mind. Purchasing a one-way to the U.S. could well mean extra time spent going through security upon departure. My experience flying domestic is that one-way purchases and day-of-travel ticket purchases tend to set off higher security protocals.

While this is good advice, surely no-one is expected to purchase a return ticket (unless it works out cheaper, of course) just to avoid security problems?

I%26#39;m no expert - but I would have thought that as long as one was able to show the boat and Eurostar/plane tickets to prove one had legitimately left the US and entered France, that would be all that would be needed.

Or am I just naïve?

No, I wasn%26#39;t at all suggesting they change their trip plans. I just thought it might help to be aware that going through security might take longer. But I suppose security hangups are always a possibility anyways, so it doesn%26#39;t really matter

Okay, this is different, but here%26#39;s another option. We travel a lot %26amp; often, as you know, one way fares are ridiculous. Most cruise lines don%26#39;t offer one ways. I have shopped my head off. We go on RCI to Amsterdam in April and coming back we are going QM2 from Englad to NYC. Hey, may as well enjoy 6 days in luxury for not that much more money.

The roundtrips always seem to be cheaper but often not as cheap as buying a REFUNDABLE roundtrip and cashing in the return to europe portion. Something to research.
