3 day itinerary - approval or comments appreciated :)

Hello! I thought I would turn to the experts to approve or comment on our plans as this will be our first time in Paris.

We arrive this Sat at 9:40 am. After dropping our luggage at the hotel (near the Louver), on Sat we were planning to see (all walking): Arc de Triophe, Palis de Chaillot, Statue of Liberty, go up the Eiffel Tower.

Sunday: (walking) Musee Orsay, Musee Rodin, Saitn Sulpice, Notre Dame and then possibly a night cruise on the Seine.

Monday: Musse de Louvre and then in the afternoon take the metro our to Sacre Coure.

We%26#39;d like to keep expenses as low as possible and this Sunday is the free Sunday at the Louvre but we we woried that it would be too busy. And then of course Orsay is not open on Monday. And in looking at the museum passes, from what I can tell and what we want to do, I don%26#39;t think they%26#39;d be a vaule to us. Am I wrong? Also, should I purchase all of these tickets online ahead of time or does it make any difference?

Thanks for all of your thoughts!

If you want to pre-order tickets you can do some of the museums at www.FNAC.com; you pick the tickets up at certain locations of FNAC (store) when you get there.

The Statue of Liberty in the Seine is not very convenient to walk to - if you check which Seine cruise you want, make sure to look at the route map - some lines will go around the Statue, while a couple of them don%26#39;t go that far.

You have a lot packed into 3 days. Are you arriving from SD? or somewhere closer?

You might find that you are too tired to see everything scheduled on Day 1. Also, Day 2 looks full. Perhaps start at the place you want to see the most and go from there. That way you won%26#39;t feel disappointed if you run out of time.

I would recommend the Museum Passes as besides the monetary value, it allows you to generally skip the lines and go right into the Museums. With all you are trying to hit on Sunday, it will be useful. (I was there in November and on a Saturday we left our apartment around 9:30 in the morning, and by the time we went to 3 small museums (close to each other) and had lunch it was already 3:30 in the afternoon. We often didn%26#39;t make it to all we had planned to see, but we did enjoy what we did see and didn%26#39;t adhere to a strict schedule.)

Most of all enjoy your trip!

This seems doable, though demanding. You might treat yourselves to a metro ride home from the Eiffel Tower on day 1! Your Sunday seems full but manageable, but do give yourselves time to enjoy the places in between your destinations. The areas between Musee Rodin and St. Sulpice, and from there to Notre Dame are just wonderful neighborhoods, so do allow yourselves to window shop, stop off to buy a patisserie, maybe eat in a little brasserie somewhere. The Ile St. Louis, just beyond Notre Dame, is also charming and worth a ramble, as is the Marais just beyond it. I hope you will have time to pop into the Sainte Chapelle on the Ile de la Cite, not far from Notre Dame. It is a real Gothic jewel, with the most beautiful stained glass you will ever see.

You may be able to hear some great music at St. Sulpice or Notre Dame or Sainte Chapelle on Sunday. If you%26#39;re interested in music, it would be worth finding out what%26#39;s on offer.

We will be arriving from San Diego so yes, I%26#39;m a bit concerned about too much on day one fresh off the plane but at the same time I don%26#39;t want to waste a moment. And while we can appreciate art and the museums we%26#39;re not likely to linger. In fact, given the comment on the music at St. Sulpice and Notre Dame, that%26#39;s more our interest. As is the lingering walks in charming neighborhoods! So I am very much lookign forward to that! Perhpas no night cruise then and linger in the neighborhoods around Notre Dame instead?

I think you have to have the night cruise, that is one of my favourites. Also Notre Dame and Saint Chappelle are wonderful.I dont think you will fit in all the museums so pick what appeals most. I love the Rodin museum and you can sit in the lovely gardens there and relax. Dont try to do too much, but just enjoy the atmosphere, Paris is as much about the cafes and restaurants for me, as the sights.

Hi --

It%26#39;s really difficult to see everything you have on your list and have any time for a glass of wine and people watching which is one of the most special things about Paris.

My best advice would be to take your list, and forget about anything that turns out to be too much. Not only forget about it, but scratch it off your current list and put it on a new list headed %26quot;Our Next Trip to Paris%26quot;. All the rest of us have lists of things to do on our next trip, why shouldn%26#39;t you have one, too.

Bon voyage.
