Check out Villefranche-sur-Mer. It%26#39;s right between Nice and Monaco, had good public transportation access to explore other spots along the Riviera, and I hear it%26#39;s got a nice small-village feel. Do a search on this forum, and about hotels as well. I keep seeing people recommend the Hotel Welcome there. Personally, I%26#39;m a Nice freak!

Villefranche is pretty but lacks nightlife (unless you want to travel into Nice).

Might be worth considering Juan les Pins ,Antibes,Cannes (so long as no conference when hotel prices rocket). St Tropez could be another option but it%26#39;s not easily accessible by public transport if you%26#39;ve only got a weekend.

Consider Menton, on the elegant side just like Beaulieu-sur-Mer, with plush gardens, good restaurants, a chance for nice strolls by the Baie du Soleil promenade. And you%26#39;re not far from Monaco that you love.

Surprisingly, Menton has some reasonably priced hotels. The one I%26#39;ve been to a while ago and enjoyed for its convenient location (close to beach) is Hotel Richelieu. I don%26#39;t know if it%26#39;s still around, but you can find out more about it online and likely on this site too (check out hotel reviews).

Enjoy!
