Hotel advise??

We are two couples visiting Bordeaux for 3 days in late April. Although %26quot;of a certain age%26quot;, we are flexible travelers of good humor. Could someone recommend a budget hotel in a safe and central location. Two that have caught our eye are the Hotel Notre Dame and the Hotel Clemenceau. Thank you for your help.

Of the two hotels, I%26#39;d recommend the Clemenceau. The Hotel Notre Dame is indeed just a 10-minute walk away from the center of town, but the Clemenceau is actually in the heart of Bordeaux.

Both hotels are located on busy streets, but Notre Dame is in an area where the traffic is less colorful and tends to fall off after dark. The Clemenceau is in what is called Bordeaux%26#39;s %26quot;Golden Triangle%26quot;, the area containing the city%26#39;s branches of luxury-goods shops (Cartier, Sonia Rykiel, gourmet chocolate shops, etc.), so there is more foot traffic--and hence more to see and do. In addition, the new network of Bordeux%26#39;s pedestrian streets begins right around the corner with the Cours d%26#39;Intendence.

For safe and central, it%26#39;s the Clemenceau.
