Child car seat in France

We are going to rent a car when we are in Tourettes Sur Loup in april. Our babygirl will be 8 months at that time. In Norway we must have the child car seat in the backseat behind the passengers seat and against the driving direction.

Is it smart to bring our own seat, or is it better to rent it from the car rental?

Kind regards, Kjeeri

Bring your own -- it%26#39;s expensive to rent baby seats, and you are never quite certain that they%26#39;ve been cleaned properly.

It%26#39;s also far easier, because you already know how to fasten yours into the car, and your daughter is comfortable.

Only once did we rent one -- and ended up standing on our heads trying to get it fastened, only to find that our son HATED the seat. He eventually tolerated it, but it was a difficult couple of days.

You can check a car seat as luggage -- but you%26#39;ll want to put it in a plastic bag (like a bin liner) so that it doesn%26#39;t get wet or soiled.

Hi Kjeeri

I agree with Sunshine, I think it would be better to bring your own for the same reasons but also you may be unluckly and there be no seat for you when you get the car, as it is not guaranteed by most rental companies (this happened to friends of ours when they visited, they rented a car from Avis and they did not have a car seat for their 2 year old for the first 2 days despite having %26#39;ordered%26#39; one when booking).

Baby seats are allowed in the front if rear facing but shouldn%26#39;t be used where there is a passanger side airbag.

Hope you enjoy your trip

I%26#39;m bringing my own on my trip in March

Hertz wanted 40 Euro PER DAY for theirs. And as has been mentioned, they dont guarantee one.
