Advise needed!

I was just thinking of making a trip to France in summer.

What do you think of the plan to go from Austria via Antwerp to the French/Belgium border and start a tour along the coast (where it is possible) via

-Normandie

-Bretagne

-then south along the West coast until Biarritz

-then back via Cote d´ Azur

We would have 2 weeks and would not have to explore the south coast - Provence and Cote d´ Azur - too much as we have been there already for many, many times.

We would like concentrate on the other coastlines an areas.

What do you think of this plan?

Would it be possible in 2 weeks?

Which are the must-sees on this route?

Which stops would you recommend?

Thanks in advance for your help!

NO - that is far too much for only 2 weeks. You can easily spend 2 weeks in Normandy and Brittany alone. The coastline here is beautiful, and there are many interesting places to stop and to see.

All of the Normandy Beaches are interesting - and especially if you are interested in WWII history. Then Brittany has the Cote Granite Rose and the Cote Emeraud, as well as the Finistaire peninsula, Carnac and many small islands off the coast, which are very beautiful. Easy to linger and meander, spend some good time there, don%26#39;t just rush through it.

Thanks a lot!

I think you would regret only giving yourself such a short time over such a wide and varied coast. There is much to see in Normandy and Brittany alone. The West coast has great beaches. When you came across from Biarritz the Pyrenees too have much to offer.

In Normandy you should visit Monet%26#39;s garden, Bayeaux, Caen, Bagnoles, the Cherbourg peninsula, Dinan %26amp; Rouen. That would take a week on its own.

You do not mention Picardy which also has towns and countryside worth visiting.

In Brittany the coast line is very varied and on occasion spectacular.

Agree your itinery too much for just two weeks. Rember that Brittany has 25% of all of France%26#39;s coastline, so I wouldn%26#39;t even try to see all of it. Try Cote de Granit Rose in the north, then cut down to Benodet in the south, then travel along the south coast to Carnac, Vannes and the lovely Gulf du Morbihan, then finally down to La Baule and the Briere nationpark. From here you can then travel back up the Loire. As I travel many miles throughout Brittany on business every year am happy to help you in your planning.
