CDG- are the terminal 2 renovations complete?

Can%26#39;t find anything on the airport website.

We left from Terminal 2E on 31 December and a good part of the terminal was still blocked off.

To the best of my knowledge, the only renovations that are on-going at CDG are those at the original CDG #1 building...and the re-building of portions of the collapsed CDG #2-E....which hasn%26#39;t affected the limited flight operations from the employed portion. The only other construction/renovation at the CDG #2 terminal %26#39;complex%26#39; (CDG#2-A, B, C, D, E, F %26amp; TGV/RER) was the construction of the stop for the new CDGVAL automated, intra-airport train/shuttle system stop at the CDG #2 TGV/RER train station.

I was specifically referring to 2E. Last 2 years flying thru there we took the bus with its 20 minute ride to and from the jet. This because of the rebuilding of 2E. Domestic flights seem fine at 2F.

Air France will try and book you on a connection that is ridicoulsly tight and you have NO hope of making through CDG. I have experienced this and was just trying to see if the rebuilding is complete. It was suppossed to be done summer 2008.

Construction at the airport and crowded arrival traffic continue to require the use of ramp parking with subsequent passenger shuttling. For example, I do not believe the east side of the E/F terminal complex (a separate north/south finger) is fully operational. Future airport plans are to dramatically reduce this unfortunate requirement.

Those making connections through CDG (or any airport actually) should be realistic about how much time may be involved to deplane and re board a continuation flight. Many will explain how they successfully connected through CDG in under an hour, many others will not be so fortunate.

The shortage of Arrival gates at CDG is not new...nor is it a function of re-construction at #2-E (though the delay in full operation hasn%26#39;t helped matters). There was a shortage of gates at CDG before, requiring buses between aircraft at the ramp and arrival terminals...and even if #2-E were to become fully operational (and the renovations and capacity increases at CDG #1) were to be completed today...there would still be a shortage of Arrival gates at CDG....due to increased/increasing traffic through this busy hub.

I agree, unfortunately Air France has an unrealistic idea of what is an %26quot;acceptable%26quot; transfer time. They scheduled my sister%26#39;s familly on a tranfer to Rome that was absoulutely ridiculous. This was done over the phone with an agent who %26quot;assurred%26quot; my sister 50 minutes was plenty of time to clear Customs and make the flight.
