8 Hour Layover in Paris

I know this question has been asked multiple times, but can someone please guide how I can make the most of my 8 hour layover in Paris.

We%26#39;re arriving there at 8:40 AM on a Saturday, there will be 4 of us and hopefully all our luggage will be checked in for our connecting flight. Our flight departs at 5:00 PM.

Do we have enough time to go see the Eiffel Tower (maybe take a picture or two, not go on top, just from the outside) and grab some lunch nearby?

Is taxi a better option? how much will it cost us? Can all 4 of us go in one taxi? do they charge by # of people or just the total ride?

sorry for so many questions, quite excited about having a layover in Paris!!!

This is just one suggestion: Take the Air France shuttle bus from exit door 2A. It leaves every 20 min. One of two routes will take you directly to the Arc. Vist the Arc, walk along the Champs, eat lunch.

Your best bet for the trip between CDG and Paris will be to use the RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne train, from its two stations within CDG...directly to the SAINT MICHEL-NOTRE DAME station (36-40 mins). From here, you may come up to street level and find yourselves almost in the shadow of Cathedrale de Notre Dame...OR...you could make the quick train switch (pretty much up %26#39;n over) to a RER %26#39;C%26#39; ligne train onward to the CHAMP de MARS-TOUR EIFFEL station (approx. 10 mins) and come up to street level a block or two from a tall, pointy, construction that seems to amuse visitors (I%26#39;m sure it must have a name) and begin your whirlwind blitzt of Paris from here...making your way back toward the RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne stations...for the trip back out to CDG. You MUST arrive back out at your departure terminal at CDG NO LATER than 2 1/2-3 hours prior to your outbound flights departure time. CDG has a well deserved notoriety (infamy is perhaps a better term) for delays. You will have to check-in with your airline and pass through normal airport security (so be mindful of this if you purchase souvenirs) and get to your departure gate.

I agree with the above post. However, you may not want the minor confusion of taking the Metro, hence my suggestion of a shuttle.

Thank you all for your help!!!
