Room Sizes

Hello my husband likes contemporary so he booked the artus hotel in st.germain (classic room) which is all they had. Now i have read some postings and it seems the room is the size of a closet. We will be there for 4 nights and I am concerned about this. the area seems very nice and so does the hotel but I just dont know about the room.

Does it really matter? It is our first trip there.

What do you all think?

Thank you

My question is - how large of a room do you really need? I am getting an apartment that is about 15m squared for when I am there in August, for two people. No TV or fancy amenities. But there is a bathroom and a shower. We don%26#39;t plan to spend a lot of time lounging around in the apartment, so we are fine with the size.

Some people (Americans) are used to %26quot;large%26quot; rooms so want the same when they go to Europe. To get such a room, you will have to pay quite a bit more than you will for a %26quot;classic%26quot; room.

It really depends on your priorities. I prefer larger rooms, not because I%26#39;m a spoiled American, but because I%26#39;m a tad claustrophobic and feel more at ease with some extra room. For this reason, we booked a large studio apartment that is about 30m2 in one large room with a terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower. To get a room of that size that was as nice would have been almost twice the price in the hotel we liked (1300 euros for the week vs 2450 euros). It was an easy decision for us. If you%26#39;re concerned with size and on a budget of any kind, I suggest you consider the apartment route.
