I%26#39;ve been reading some of the posts about Cannes Beaches and wondering if there are free sandy beaches with showers and bathrooms available. My fiance and I are staying in Nice but would like to visit the beaches in Cannes as the beaches in Nice are rocky.
Any suggestions would be apprciated!

Yes there are free municipal sandy beaches in Cannes at both ends of the Croisette, the famous boulevard. There are more round the corner from the old port going east towards Cannes la Bocca.
These have open showers on the beach. Bathroom facilities are strategically placed on the promenade.
There is also a halfway house open between June and September, next to the private Plage le Goeland at the Palais des Festivals end of the Croisette. This is a municipal beach , but has its own closed shower and bathroom facilities .There is a relatively small charge to hire a deckchair and/or parasol per half day

Sorry west to Cannes la Bocca- the Plages du Midi

I very much recommend the beach of Villefranche, just two stops EAST of Nice by local train. It%26#39;s a wonderful bay and the beach is perfect. I was staying in Nice but always used to go there for swimming.
