Possible Campervan Disaster... any advise??

Dear all,

My partner and I have hired a campervan for a week of travel around the south of France. We are going to the rugby (for the Rugby World Cup) in Marseille on the 8th of September and need to find somewhere to park the campervan, preferably a campsite however any advise will be gratefully received!

My partner has this grand idea that we will just drive to Marseille and find somewhere to stay for the night. I can see this ending in disaster!

I know that we might be too late however any ideas of what we could do or where we could go would be much appreciated!

I live in Marseille and I have to tell you that there isn%26#39;t really camping inside, but you can go to Cassis or the Camargue. Cassis is really beautiful so you might want to go there also the Camargue might be full of mosquitoes. You MUST print a map out or have a map because marseille is a little hard to go through especially with a camping car. I%26#39;m next to positive that there is no camping inside the city we have tried to look for some, but I think the %26quot;camping%26quot; that is inside the city is more for permant residents and it is usually full.

Hi all!

Thank you so much for your advice. I had actually managed to find a campsite near Marseille in Setpemes-Les-Vallons at La Verdière. Apparently there is a train which will only take 6 minutes to get into Marseille.....

Hi kiwichicknik.

I am heading to Marseille this weekend and am scrabbling around for accomodation. I would be interested to hear how you got on at the Septemes Les Vallons campsite. I have looked at the train timetables and they are showing travel times of 30 odd minutes into marseille as opposed to your much shorter estimation.

Any information would be great.
