Two Days - give me some ideas

Hello - My husband, son and I will be driving from Paris to Bayeux on Sunday 17 February - here%26#39;s my itinerary ...

depart Paris 10:00 am and head towards the coast - thinking of stopping at Jumigies (some sort of ruins maybe??) and then heading to Trouville to wander and eat lunch. Maybe hike around and then to Arromanches and arrive in Bayeux around 5:00. Next day see the beaches and drive to Barfleur - hike around and maybe drive to Mont st Michel.

Tuesday we%26#39;d drive back to Paris.

We are young - two adults and a 8 year old - we like to walk/hike, eat and drink. I%26#39;d love some input on things we must see, places to eat and things not to do and see. I apologize for all the mis-spellings in advance!

Two places I wouldn%26#39;t miss are the American cemetery at Omaha Beach and the airborne museum in Ste. Mere- Eglise. While the latter would especially be great fun for your son the cemetery is one of those places that you%26#39;ll always remember.

oops forget Trouville, visit Deauville and HONFLEUR

also the american cemetary ...

If you are going to Arromanches, then also consider the Pointe du Hoc: the terrain is lunarlike, the whole place amazing.

If you are going to Bayeux, go and see the Bayeux Tapestry - it is FANTASTIC. You don%26#39;t have to spend your time looking at all the %26#39;explanatory%26#39; stuff, unless you really want to, just meander through all of that, and get straight to the Tapestry itself. You will be amazed at the fabulous colours of the threads, after all these centuries, AND the %26#39;lively%26#39; expressions on the people and animals depicted.

Oh yes, and at Arromanches there is a really good 360%26#39; Cinema on the top of the hill, which is well worth a visit, telling the WW2 story of the area.
