Help I have just read you advice on bsm and supermarkets. I wonder if you could help me. We want to go next boxing day and stay on leversoyen campsite in our motorhome for a week and our boys age 12 and 14 could snowboard and us ski. Is it a big hassle to get to the funnicular and up to arc 1600. They said they is a shuttle bus to the station and somewhere at the funnicular to leave you ski gear. If you could give us any advice on where things are in the town from the campsite and if super u and intermarche are within walking distance. We stay for three weeks on the coast in summer but it is different lugging shopping in the snow. P.S. not sure if i am mad to do this. Regards Suzanne

hi,suzanne
if you go to my website www,ski-bourgstmaurice-lesarcs.co.uk you will find my email address,if you email me your home postal address i will be happy to send you some information about BSM,maps ,supermarket locations etc.
With regards to ski storage the Polstar ski hire and sercice shop will store skis/boards,boots etc for 4euros per day(based on last years rice lthough this rarely changes from experience),the Polstar ski hire shop is situated right next to the funicular, and there is also a lift pass office there aswell.
many regards
jonG.
I will also put the info with regards to the campsite(to the best of my knowledge) on the tripadvisor site for other forum users aswell.

Hi agian,
have had a look through some info about BSM and the Caravaneige le Versoyen is located about 150 yards or so from both the Super U %26amp; Intermarche supermarkets on the otherside of the road, during the winter the roads are kept pretty much clear in all but the worst conditions, and also as BSM itself is only at 810 metres above sea level getting snowed in is not usually a problem so walking about the town will be fine.As for there being a shuttle service from the campsite i am unsure, but will look into this further and let you know.

I%26#39;ve just sent you an email Suzanne. I%26#39;ve been visitng BSM for 20+ years, and was skiing there just last weekend.
Le Versoyen is a decent campsite and is just within walking distance of the funiculaire as long as you%26#39;re not carrying ski gear.
There are pros %26amp; cons of staying down in Bourg, as opposed tp up in Les Arcs.
The pros are; more realistic prices, more choice of restaurants %26amp; shops %26amp; supermarkets %26amp; ski hire places, more varied nightlife? Warmer weather. If you have a car, the ability to drive up to Pre St Esprit (Arc 2000), or for a change, drive to St Foy, La Rosiere (via Ecudets chair lift), Tignes or Val D%26#39;Isere for the day.
Slight inconvenience of getting to %26amp; from Funiculire each day - but most people drive down to the car park there, even if it%26#39;s only a short distance. Car enables easy supermarket run on way home.
