Monet's Garden

My wife %26amp; I are taking a trip to the centre of Paris in June and wish to visit Monet%26#39;s Garden alon the way. Can anyone recommend any good tour companies ( ideally pick up and drop off at hotel ). We are worried that some may only stay in the gardens a short time.

Plus any other tips or advice you can give us

You don%26#39;t need a tour... take the train to Vernon, then a taxi to the Giverny gardens... then reverse the process.

If you take a tour, your bus will arrive with the rest of the armada of buses.

My advice is to take the train, get there when the place opens, rush over to the lilly pond and get some photos before the daily invasion. My goodness, I think they will soon need to install a traffic light on le pont Japonaise.

I agree. Don%26#39;t ruin it by going on a tour. If you love Monet, do not miss Giverny. It is %26quot;spiritual%26quot; it is so great!

I describe it as being %26quot;in%26quot; a Monet painting as opposed to looking at it

I agree with all of the above - get there as early as you possibly can, because the bridge is likely to sink under the weight of the visitors one of these days (and it%26#39;s never empty so you can%26#39;t just photograph it - unless maybe you absolutely run there after being the first in through the gates).

It%26#39;s definitely worth getting up very early so as to arrive before it opens - we were there in June and it was lovely because everything was blooming, but we got lucky both because we were there early and also because there had been a huge storm the night before which was just clearing when we arrived (so we got sun, but people who didn%26#39;t leave until the sun came out were well behind us in arrival time).

We were afraid it might be a bit %26quot;Disney%26quot; but it really give you the feeling that he just put down the brushes and went down to the cafe for a glass of wine, and will be back shortly. Really great!
