Skishoeing

What can you do in Morzine if you cannot do alpine skiing or snow boarding unlike the rest of the family but love nature and taking pictures ?

What is skishoeing exactly ? Walking in the snow with rackets on your feet or like cross country skiing ? Do you have to follow dedicated tracks ?

Is Morzine a good resort for skishoeing ? Can you hire the equipment in Morzine ? Where exactly ?

Hi Caty

I%26#39;m from the mountains of the Canadian West, and I have no idea what skishoeing is. I%26#39;ve never before heard of it.

I have snow shoes and use them every winter season. I have cross country skis, and do that regularly. I have downhill skis and do that regularly. None of these things is called skishoeing here,

BTW, I%26#39;m old enough to have started snow shoeing on the old long woven shoes, the ones you call racquets. Now, most everyone uses the modern snow shoe which is a variation on the old %26quot;bear paw%26quot; shoe, but made from different materials.

If skishoeing and snow shoeing are indeed the same thing, you may be required to remain on a dedicated trail, but it shouldn%26#39;t be groomed as for cross country skiing. BTW, snow shoeing is great fun. Take your camera because it%26#39;s a great platform for photography.

Good luck.
