Hey everyone -
First timers to Paris and we%26#39;re bringing our 6 year old daughter with us. We posted earlier and received some excellent advice to search out a place close to Luxembourg Gardens so Madeline will have a place to run and play after mornings of exploring areas and culture.
We%26#39;ve found the following apartment and we%26#39;re wondering if anyone has stayed there before or used the booking company...? Do you know if the area have restaurants/cafes/bakeries/markets?
If you could share your experiences, we%26#39;d soak it up like a dry sponge.

You will have a fabulous time.
We love the sixth and all of Paris.
We stayed in the sixth last May and will be there again this May and CANNOT wait. While I am not familiar with your Apartment, we rented from Haven In Paris and they have several apartments in Paris. I cannot stress enough what fabulous people own and run these fabulous apartments. Every detail is taken care of. For each apartment in different arrondisements they leave detail instructions and give recommendations of places to shop, eat, visit...etc. A local (and english speaking) member of their staff meets you at the apartment and you can call them with any questions. Actually, they contact you while still in the states and the communication begins there.
While I know you can find apartments for less, these are immaculate, they have thought of everything. REALLY. Check them out. www.haveninparis.com

I happen to know that street (rue Domat) and it%26#39;s about a 10 min walk to the Luxembourg gardens. The apartment is not in the 6th, but in the 5th (metro Maubert Mutualite). That area IS full of restaurants, cafes, bakeries so you have nothing to worry in that respect; in fact, there%26#39;s a Franprix supermarket right below the apartment. There is also the Tuesday/Saturday outdoor market on Place Maubert with fabulous food.
Although rue Domat is a tiny street, you%26#39;ll want to make sure the bedroom faces the back--there are a few outdoor cafes and bars nearby which could be a source of noise if you had the windows open.
I%26#39;m afraid I%26#39;ve never used that company. Have you tried entering parisaddress in the search bar?
Enyoy your trip!

I agree that you%26#39;ve chosen a great location. In fact, my husband and I have just rented an apt. with Vacation in Paris for a week in April very near where you%26#39;re staying, in the rue des Carmes.
Many of the things our children most enjoyed in Paris are walking distance from your location: playing in the Luxembourg Gardens, eating crepes from crepe stands in the Place St. Michel, eating Berthillon sorbets on the Ile St. Louis (note that there are 2 Berthillon shops on the Ile St. Louis, and it%26#39;s cheaper if you walk a little way down the rue St. Louis en l%26#39;Ile to the second, less prominent shop!), feeding birds outside Notre Dame, riding the vedettes on the Seine, walking along the river and on the pedestrian bridges in the evening, watching street performers near Notre Dame, etc., etc. On that trip we stayed in the rue St. Andre des Arts (the other side of the Place St. Michel from the apt. you%26#39;re considering), and we found the best bread and pastries of our whole stay in France in a bakery in the rue de Buci, which is really just a continuation of the rue St. Andre des Arts and a great, lively neighborhood you should visit.
You might want to search for Trip Advisor posts about things to do in Paris with a girl your daughter%26#39;s age. I%26#39;ve seen some wonderful ideas, like the Musee de la Poupee, et much more.
Bon voyage!

As Inkacola mentioned, the apartment is in a convenient location. I stayed in an apartment near there in November (much smaller than the one you are looking at).
I loved everything about our apartment except the four flights of stairs. Otherwise, it was great.
You%26#39;ll love that neighborhood.

Hello,
First the 6th district is a great choice with a 6 years old.
I was myself in paris this summer with a 5y old and there is a lots of parks, playgrounds, the jardin des plantes ect...
I don%26#39;t know this apartment but I stayed at Cardinal Lemoine Metro. it was a spacious apartment, quiet and with a walk in closet my girl used as a game room.
If you are not sure, check out this apartment on
