Angelinas to Louvre

Hi

I see alot of people suggest going to Angelinas for hot chocolate.

I see that Angelinas is at 226 Rue de Rivoli.

1. Is this in walking distance of the Louvre?

2. I have read people saying to enter the Louvre at the Carousel entrance on Rue de Rivoli. Is this the same street as Angelinas?

3. If we wanted to do Angelinas and than walk to the Louvre would we get off the Metro Stop Palais Royal Musee?

Thanks again in advance for helping me put my short trip to Paris in a good order!!

It appears from your posts that you need a good map. I recommend the Paris Mapguide.

Angelina%26#39;s to the Louvre is a short walk down the Rue de Rivoli.

Cross the street at the Palais Royale Musee du Louvre Metro stop and enter the Richeleu Wing of the Louvre.

A guide book would also have a map as well as other essential basic information you will need to get the most out of your trip.

Thanks so much for your replies!!!

I do have the Street Wise Paris Map.

Unfortunately it does not have addresses on the map of different sites.

It appears on the map that the Rue de Rivoli is a long street.

Again thanks for your expertise in the different areas.

While you could get off the metro at Palais Royal, the Tuilieries stop is closer to Angelina%26#39;s.

After you are finished with your fabulous hot chocolate, leave Angelina%26#39;s, cross the street and walk towards the Louvre. As you approach the Louvre, you will see banners that say %26quot;Carrousel du Louvre%26quot;, which is a shopping mall that goes underneath the pyramid of the Louvre. Take the escalators down and you will find ticket machines to purchase your tickets if you haven%26#39;t already done so. Walk straight ahead and you will see light coming down from above (the pyramid) and Secuirty check will be to your left.

Not sure of the exact walking distance from Angelina%26#39;s to the Louvre...but with a strong throw, I%26#39;ll bet you could hit the west end of the Louvre with a sugar cube from in front of Angelina%26#39;s??

Perhaps our expectations were too high but I wantto share them with you.

After reading all the great reviews and advice on the internet we went to Angelinas in September 2007. In my opinion is is highly over rated. We walked there the first time after visting the Louvre and I don%26#39;t remember it being that far. I think it was less than a 10 minute walk.

Since it was 10pm it should not have shocked us to find it was closed. There are no operating hours posted we could see.

We found it again a few days later and found the menu in french and confusing which may also lead to this bad review of the place.

My very thick hot cup of white hot chocolate was very bland. We could not find regular chocolate on the menu but one sounded right. Unfortunatly when it came it was actually tea. The desserts looked and sounded better than they were.

The street it is on is lined with overpriced but some lovely souvenier shops.

I did experience heaven with a cup of thick hot chocholate in Barcelona the next week.
