Hello all, we have booked the Kyriad Italie Gobelins Hotel for 5 nights in April. I know it is a little away from the main sights, but budget won over location! I know it is near a couple of Metro’s, so I am not very worried about the location. I am just wondering how far it is to walk to lets say the Notre Dame area or the Latin Quarter should we take the notion of walking? (It is located on Rue Veronese just off the Avenue des Gobelins – 13th Arr.)

It%26#39;s going to be a pretty long walk to the northern part of the Latin Quarter and the Notre Dame.
But the metro whizzes you quickly and safely everywhere you need to go, so don%26#39;t fret.

I have stayed in that area several times. The bus right there is great and runs constantly.
The Metro Place d%26#39;Italie is very easy to use and you will be at sites in no time!
There is also a huge shopping Mall right there
(Place D%26#39;Italie Commerical) for groceries and snacks and lots of stores to look and shop. Right next to the grocery which is on the bottom floor ...there is a nice Chinese resto very cheap I think it is called the Jade Cafe. They have wonderful noodle soups! If you cross the street to Ave d%26#39;Choicy you will find so many great Chinese restos there! There is also a huge Market street there on Fridays.
I have mobility problems but I have walked to rue Moufftarde Market and a few other places like Luxembourg garden,Pantheon, and Cluny but I stayed a long time and just wanted to explore along the way.
But for you with only 5 days and a time crunch ...take the bus or the metro.
