Ecole Militaire to the Louvre

Hi

I leave for London and Paris in about 5 weeks. We will only be in Paris from Wed evening to Sat am so I am trying to get organzied and figure out the best way to see the main sites.

I have sooo many questions. I will post them in seperate posts.

We will be staying on du Champs de Mars. I see the closest Metro is Ecole Militaire. I also know that on Wed that the Louvre is open till 10pm. I was hoping we would check into the hotel Wed afternoon and catch the Metro to the Louvre.

1. Am I correct looking at the map that we would take the metro from Ecole Militaire to the Palais-Royale station? Is it a direct line or do we need to transfer to another line?

2. About how long do you think the Metro trip would take for us to get there?

Thanks in advance!

#8 Metro ligne (heading in the direction of Créteil Préfecture) to CONCORDE...then #1 Metro ligne (heading in the direction of Château de Vincennes) to PALIAI ROYAL-MUSÉE du LOUVRE..then directly into the lower Carousel du Louver entrances to the museum. The Metro trip should take approx 12-15 mins. The Louvre remains opern until 21:45(9:45) on Wednesdays and Friday evenings...but they begin %26#39;herding%26#39; visitors out approx. 30 minutes earlier.

As an %26#39;..exercise..%26#39; to begin to figure out the Paris Metro system, try using the %26#39;..PLAN de LIGNES..%26#39;, %26#39;..PLAN de QUARTIER..%26#39; and %26#39;..ITINÉRAIRE..%26#39; feature for the RATP%26#39;s web site (the site can be %26#39;fussy%26#39; so be sure to check-off the correct boxes--Station, Date %26amp; Hour for best response)--

Thanks so much for the prompt response!!!

One reason I recommend the Paris Mapguide is that it has a very readable Metro map.

The 69 city bus is an alternative to the Metro:

Thank you so much for the responses.

We have purchased a pass through our travel agent and she said it will be good for the bus and metros.

I will bring the bus route information too!
