France-Spain Eurail Select Pass with 5 travel days

Hi All! I have a France-Spain Eurail Select Pass with 5 travel days. May I ask what is the best way to spend my travel days in a span of 2 weeks? By best I mean the most cost-effective way of using the travel days while not sacrificing the touring quality in terms of sights to see, what to experience, etc. I want to take a leisurely pace and may even be willing to give up my travel days. Any itinerary you can suggest will be most appreciated. Thanks!

Well, it depends on what you want to see. Tourist sites? Museums, Churches? Cities, like Paris? The countryside?

Your original post is not specific enough for anyone to really give you a good answer.

Narrow it down a bit, and we may be able to offer some good advice.

Oh, ok. I%26#39;ll be arriving in Paris Jan 28 and will be around the Paris area (I already have an itinerary) until Feb 3 when I intend to leave for other cities in France. My priority is to see tourist areas (sights, castles, cathedrals, snowcapped mountains, etc.). In Spain, I want to see the city scene as well as the tourist areas in different cities or outside the cities. I%26#39;m interested in local food (dining and cooking) as well as culture. I%26#39;m not really picky. Being my first time to travel to Europe, I just want to explore and therefore, open to anything!

i forgot to add that I%26#39;ll be departing from Paris on Feb 18. Thanks, Vicki!

I%26#39;m sorry, one more question. Do your two weeks begin February 3rd or January 28?

For France, I would definitely consider spending a couple of days in Provence - Aix en Provence, Arles and surrounding areas. You could base yourself in Aix.

For Spain, you may enjoy the city-life of Barcelona.

Let us know how many days after Paris you have...that may be important :)
