We are arriving in April driving from CDG Airport late morning. I am planning to be able to visit Rouen only highlights, and Honfleur. The question is how much can we see and still reach our first nights lodgings in Crepon before late afternoon.

ANd the answer is very little!
How late is late morning? How late is late afternoon?
If you%26#39;re arriving at CDG say 11.30 then by the time you have picked up the car and driven to Rouen it is going to be about 1.30ish. From Rouen to Honfleur is another 45 minutes (2.15pm). From Honfleur to Crepon about an hour (3.15). So that%26#39;s the travelling times without stopping anywhere. So as you can see, you would have less than an hour in each place if you want to arrive at your destination by, say, 5.30pm. Rouen is a big city so by the time you have found your way in and parked you are going to have very little time to do anything. Honfleur is a lot smaller but I would still think you would need about 1.5 hours to have a good wander around.

Hi,
Thank you Thi,
Actually we will be ariving 9:30am on a Tuesday. We will not want to do too much in Rouen. Maybe just a drivethrough. My husband wanted to see La Havre ( the port where the ancestors left for New France in the 1600s ) but I think we could accomplish that by our visit to Honfleur and avoid going into the busy area of La Havre on a weekday. From a googles view it looks like we can view the harbor from Honfleur. From Honfleur we will drive straight to Crepon for the night. We will have two days in the area and can back track to Caen the next day. I will be posting other threads on the other parts of Normande that we plan to visit. Thanks for putting my mind at ease. I just hope that we have a nice sunny day.

You won%26#39;t actually be able to see the port of Le Havre from Honfleur but you are absolutely right, it%26#39;s not worth driving in. It%26#39;s not a particularly attractive city and one harbourside looks much like another. Honfleur is a much better bet. If you%26#39;re leavign CDG at 9.30 you should be able to fit both Rouen and Honfleur in before going on to Crepon.

Thanks, Thi,
I think that we will most likely try to see the Cathedrel and the Joan of Arc monument and move on to Honfleur. Being a weekday it could be difficult to find parking midmorning for many of the things to see and we will be a little jetlaged for our flight and a lot of walking on the first day might be too much. ( I am 66 he is 76) We are in good shape but I don%26#39;t want to push too much.
I will start a new thread for my next question, %26quot;Which route to take from Honfleur to Crepon.%26quot;
