Riviera-rentals, service or no service?

I was just wondering if it is normal that I get no answer on a request, even 5 days afetr sending a request on their website. The agency looked OK and has a good reputation, so I was kind of surprised that I am not receiving an answer to my request. I wanted to compare some of their flats with Citadines (wher I a m a sort of regular) but am seriously reconsidering my decision.

Any comments from Riviera-rentals users or from people at Riviera-rentals.com ?

I don%26#39;t think that%26#39;s normal or certainly not good service! Did you send your request via email or a form on the website? Sometimes these messages seem to disappear into the ether. Maybe try sending again or telephone directly. There%26#39;s an office number and a mobile number at the bottom of the home page. Good luck, it%26#39;s annoying when there%26#39;s no response but perhaps give them the benefit of the doubt; maybe they never got the message in the first place. If you have no luck with a second message or telephone call, then maybe try another company.

We had the same problem with this company last year but there are so many rental properties on the Riviera so we went elsewhere. If they can%26#39;t be bothered with the initial enquiry then I wouldn%26#39;t trust them to provide a decent level of service in the apartment.

We would always recommend www.nicepebbles.com. They have some fabulous apartments and Matt %26amp; Gayle are very efficient.

Well finally we got an answer this morning. Too late. We have to book early and give dates to my wife%26#39;s boss, so we can%26#39;t wait a few days for answers. Maybe next time.

Hi All,

My name is Paul Manion and I own the rental agency Riviera-Rentals.

I appreciate the opportunity yymca6 gave me by sending me his enquiry email - unfortunately due to a computer/server problem my response was delayed (of course I apologize for this delay) and it is not a normal occurrence.

However, for the benefit of this forum and posting - I will explain about my about company - I am a fully registered and insured legal French Rental agency Carte Professionelle 2298G and FNAIM bonded.

What does this mean?

a) My agency is accountable for its actions – we have to offer you the best possible service otherwise you have total right of redress.

b) You money is safe – under French law rental monies (your money) has to be held in a secure bank account and paid correctly to the owner at no financial risk to yourself – you are insured of my service through FNAIM.

c) My properties have to adhere to a standard and service under French law (I am accountable)

Therefore, you have total peace of mind in my service and financially correctness.

As with any property rental you will choose the property on its merits, but the service and correctness of the rental agency is an integral part of this to give you the service and holiday you deserve.

My company has been trading since May 2004 and this year alone we have had over 600 happy and satisfied clients - please see my guestbook accordingly.

I totally appreciate the benefit of Trip advisor - however I also feel sometimes these posts may lead to misinterpretation and misrepresentation - and as we know it is very difficult to judge who these %26quot;unbiased%26quot; comments are made by.

All I can assure you categorically I truly care about my clients and have many happy and returning clients.

I totally appreciate people will read what people write on these sites (and judge them accordingly) as we well know sometimes people will manipulate their postings for their own benefit. However, please judge me for how I respond to you personally and what service and property I can provide for you.

So by all means – if you are looking for a reputable and reliable rental agency with excellent apartments don’t hesitate to contact me directly through this site - or my web site - and judge for yourself the service you get.

Yours very sincerely,

Paul Manion

We have used Riviera-Rentals in the past and have always been more than satisfied with the service provided.

Paul has many excellent properties and is a very helpful and informed provider.

He is available 24 hours a day for emergency cover and will sort any problems out immediately.

Please don%26#39;t let one e-mail slip up put you off.

Thank you for your answer Mr. Manion. As you can see I am not a one-time poster and have frequently rented apartments in Paris but never in Nice (if you do not consider Citadines as a %26quot;regular-type%26quot; apartment). That is why I requested info from your website. As it was the 1st time I had not received answers to my request from either an apartment owner or an agency, I was puzzled and that is why I posted on Trip Advisor. Your website is more than OK and full of info. So I repeat : I was more puzzled than anything at the absence of answer. And when we see the opprtunity to book a trip to Nice we need confirmation real quick as my wife%26quot;s boss can change her mind and ask her not to leave. If we have reservations then she has to live with her 1st decision...

So for Riviera-rentals lovers please don%26#39;t throw rocks at me. Case closed.
