2nd time in Paris, Please help with my 3 day itenerary

My husband and I will be arriving by train at about 9 am on a Sunday in April. The first time we were in Paris we missed some things, but the most enjoyable to me was just enjoying the city. Walking through the latin quarter, under the eiffel tower, the banks of the Seine.

Here are my ideas for the second trip, please rate these for me and suggest any new ones.

Day 1 Sunday: Versailles (missed it the first time,

but is it worth it?)

Day 2 Monday: The Louvre ( rushed through before)

Walk the parks around Eiffel Tower

Day 3 Tuesday Catacombs, Latin Quarter, Monet Museum

Is a Seine Dinner cruise worth it? Any other suggestions?

You don%26#39;t say where you%26#39;re arriving from. If you spent a long overnight on a train or started very early in the morning perhaps Sunday is not the best day to go to Versailles. It can involve a lot of walking. I suggest you go there on Tuesday (it%26#39;s closed on Mondays) See www.chateauversailles.fr/en for all details. Do day 3 on day 1. Start with the Orangerie (I suppose it%26#39;s what you call the Monet museum) www.musee-orangerie.fr, then do the the catacombs www.catacombes-de-paris.fr. After you can stroll the latin Quarter as you wish. As for the Dinner Cruise, it%26#39;s fun but only you can decide if it%26#39;s worth the price.

The Monet Museum is called Le Marmottan. And I say %26quot;don%26#39;t miss it%26quot;. It is my favorite museum in Paris. If you like Monet, I also suggest you go to the Orangerie and at least see the Water Lilies room. They built a room just for Monet%26#39;s giant water lily paintings. It is great. It is right next to the Tuileries and it wouldn%26#39;t take long to see. You could walk there after the Louvre. It is open on Monday.

Also, if you didn%26#39;t do a self-tour of Opera Garnier (8 euros), by all means don%26#39;t miss that. I think it is the most beautiful building in all of Paris--and that is saying something. Walk around the outside too, and then be sure and go in and walk around. It will take your breath away.

If you want something unusual to do one evening, I suggest a segway tour to see the City%26#39;s lights (including the twinkling Eiffel Tower). It is so much fun, and not difficult to balance--as I am 58 years old and not coordinated. I just loved it. they also have morning tours, but this way you could do your own thing during the day and then do the tour at night.

I would certainly try to go to the Rodin Museum. The sculpture is exquisite and the chateau and gardens beautiful in their own right. People say the renovated Orangerie is fabulous too, and I plan to go on my trip to Paris in April. I also love the Musee Cluny (St. Michel area). The Musee Carnavalet in the Marais is funky and cool, as is the neighborhood. I might choose this area (not far from the Louvre anyway) over the parks near the Eiffel Tower for your Day 2 afternoon.

On our April trip, my husband and I plan to go to a concert of the Solistes francais in la Sainte Chapelle, just to have the opportunity to hear beautiful music in such an exquisite building. You might check it out, or look for other music inside the churches of Paris. Last time I was there I happened onto a concert in the Eglise St. Germain, which was also delightful.

I do think a trip to Versailles is worth it. It must be seen to be believed!

Oct. %26#39;07 I went to a concert of the Solistes Francais in la Sainte Chapelle. The music as well as the environment were beautiful. Very enjoyable!!!

I%26#39;d say to stay in Paris the day of arrival, go to the musee d%26#39;Orsay for all of the masterpieces from Whistler to Monet, to Rodin, to Rembrandt. Jeeze, you can walk right up to them from a distance of one inch!! Les Invalides with Napoleons%26#39; tomb and the military hardware is worth a trip. Do Verailles on another day. The Seine dinner cruise is NOT worth it. You can eat much better for much less. We did the all day hop on/off for 12 Euros from the Eiffel Tower and it was better than the metro or Bus, low key, lots of sights, and we hopped off at Notre Dame, the furthest from our hotel.

Thanks to all this is exactly the kind of stuff I was looking for.:)

Versailles should not be missed. Definitely check out Marie Antoinette%26#39;s hamlet. I wouldn%26#39;t spend all day at the Louvre and would allocate part of Monday to Musee Orangerie while you%26#39;re in the area. If Laduree wasn%26#39;t on your itinerary during your first trip to Paris, make sure to add it to your list for this trip.
