Its confirmed - one whole month in Paris - research begins

After both spending the odd week or couple of days in Paris over the I am having a whole month in Paris with one of my best friends. Even if is a year away ( arrive on 22 Dec 08 and depart 18 Jan 09) I can hardly wait - now the work begins. I will be searching t/a for Apartments, recccomendations for Christmas Day ( I hope Santa will still find me ), reccomendations for N Years Eve. Oh the excitement !!!

Any advice gladly received to start off my research on any of the above or just thoughts in General. Big question is - are there Boxing day Sales in Paris

The %26quot;official%26quot; sales periods are strictly regulated in Paris - twice a year, in summer and winter. The next one (winter sale) starts on 9 january 08:00 and ends 16 February 2008. If you%26#39;re in Paris until 18 Jan 2009, there%26#39;s a good chance you will be able to %26quot;experience%26quot; the 2009 winter sale (but no final dates have been announced yet).

I compiled some good webs for Paris research in this article:

Travelnutty that is a super resource and everyone should use it. It would save a lot of unnecessary questions on this forum.

Richardcat--I am getting ready (in the near future) to post my itinerary from my 30 day Paris trip in Sept.-Oct. If you want to give me your email address, I will make sure you get a copy.

Thanks everyone - Travelnutty great advice

My email address is wildermoth1@hotmail.com. Love to see the itinerary. Number one on my list will be stocking up on LAduree caramel Macaroons to see me through the wintery nights

I%26#39;ve got no specific recommendations, but I wanted to pop in to say how lucky are you!!

Even though it seems far away, you%26#39;ll be surprised how fast the year progresses.

Keep us updated with your plans.

Hi Richardcat

I%26#39;ll be in France until mid-Feb (in Paris from 18-26 Jan) and as I%26#39;m also an Aucklander, I%26#39;m coming back to Perth through Auckland 23-25 Feb; so maybe we can meet up and I%26#39;ll pass on any tips. I%26#39;ll keep a note of your email address and get in touch nearer the time.

Thanks JanToo for your info on the sales - glad to know I%26#39;ll be there at the right time!! That%26#39;s even more motivation for me to resist the post-Christmas sales here at the moment.

Hi Kiwi-di

I have been at the beach over the New Year period and there is no internet access there so apologies for my delay in replying. Sounds great - you can text me on 027 4415257 too

I am GREEN with envy! Wish I were making plans for a return trip this year. Hopefully in 2009 when my granddaughter graduates from high school.
