not used, but sounds good. Nice place to stay ...

Don%26#39;t have any experience with the particular listing you mention but we have rented VRBO #51644 on Ile St. Louis for the past two years. We love the apartment, it%26#39;s location and the owners. Couldn%26#39;t have had a better experience and we hope to go back!

I don%26#39;t know about this one but my friends that come over to Paris usually use the property #140342, a great penthouse with all modern accommodations. I love to visit them over there!

not in the same league, but friends often rented with vrbo the apart. no.103254, they really like the place, the private garden and the practical location near marais.

Will be staying in http://www.vrbo.com/130631 in February. Will let you know how it was.

there isn%26#39;t exactly such a thing as %26#39;renting with VRBO%26#39;

VRBO is a listing service sort of like Craig%26#39;s List where individual owners advertise apartments and the arrangements are with those individual owners -- so I am not sure that VRBO intervenes to deal with problems -- I supposed if someone defrauds frequently they might be delisted -- but they are not a traditional agency.

that said -- many traditional agencies really dn%26#39;t do much for the renter either in the case of a dispute over deposits or conditions

I have rented twice through the VRBO system, once in Paris and once in the Dordogne and had excellent experiences both times -- but I dealt only with the owners who were marvelous to deal with

Dear mshirodk

We%26#39;ve not stayed there but we have walked through the area and it is very respectable and near the Arc de Triomphe. You can check it out on Les Photos de villes ( photos.pagesjaunes)and have a little tour of the area. Good transport links. The apartment looks nice but there are not many bars and cafes around from the looks of it so would perhaps be quiet at night.The Champs Elysees is not far where there are bars and cafes but that is the most expensive tourist area in Paris where you need a mortgage for a cup of coffee. Depends what you want. Personally I would stay in the 5th or 6th if you want lively or the 7th if you want a bit quieter and more refined. You can get appartments for the same price in those areas.

Happy hunting.

We always rent from the vrbo site, why pay an angency fee? We most rather go for a nice meal!

|||

thank you all for the wonderful input. we%26#39;re still debating between this apt and one in the latin quarter. will post my experience. merci!

I%26#39;m renting this exact apartment for a week in October. I%26#39;m very excited about it, and the owner--Philippe--has been wonderful.
