Walking Distance

will be arriving at gare de nord train station and need to get to the maris/bastille area how far is it and is it in walking distance?

Depends how good a walker you are. Could be two miles, have you a decent street map?

The approximate walking distances from GARE du NORD to--

Place de la Republique---1.6 km/1 mi.

Place des Vosges---------3.1 km/2 mi.

Place de la Bastille-----3.3 km/2 mi.

Assume a normal walking pace of 4 kph/2.5 mph

You can work out your own approx. walking time(s) with a simple: Time = Distance x 60 / Speed.

It is doable but will take you between 45%26#39; (walking fast) and an hour to walk from Gare de Lyon to Place de la Bastille. I assume you will have luggages to carry, so more likely an hour. Why not take the Métro ?
