I have done a googles and a Mappy search for the possible routes to take and I could use some input from someone who knows the area...the possible factors involved in making the dicission would be The most scenic, the least congested, and of course the whether......Is it likely to rain on a Tuesday in the very middle of April? I can%26#39;t find a reason to drive through or around the edge of Caen...?..If we took the more coastal route? WE will be in Crepon for two nights but may want to leave early because my husband wanted to visit Jauze, Sarthe, Loire, but that is a long ride and not the most direct way to get to Mont. Ste. Michel wher we will be staying that night. ( Could start a new thread on routes to Mont. Ste. Michel.)

The coast road is a very pretty drive but it will take you a lot longer than going down the A13 motorway and the Caen peripherique. Even that won%26#39;t be congested though, outside of rushhour and August it never is. It depends how much time you have.

Thi,
I did a googles and found that if I take the coastal route it takes 1hr.47min. and by the highway it is 1hr.45min. to crepon I will also do a mappy to see if there is any difference. Sometimes googles is wacky with their routes althought they have ben inproving.

I think it%26#39;s because they base their times on speed limits x distance but the thing is with the coast road as opposed to a 2 lane highway is that you only need to get stuck behind a caravan or a tractor to slow you down to 25Km/hr for a long distance.
