We%26#39;re going to be 2 families with 5 children between us driving down to Italy in the summer. We need an overnight stay somewhere reasonably priced but half-decent. We were thinking Strasbourg but could be any mid point between Dover and Tuscany. We%26#39;ve used Mister Bed once and never again - hot and cramped. I%26#39;m having trouble finding somewhere that has rooms suitable for 2 adults + 3 children. Any suggestions greatfully received. Thank you.

What a fantastic looking place. A little over budget for this trip but worth knowing about for the future. Thanks

in 1981 we drove to florence to see friends and on the way back stopped at a lovely hotel in sarre union
in 2006 my wife flew to florence to see the same friends and i drove sadly the hotetl in sarre union was closed and up for sale
good news was i found a delightful village - le petite pierre with a lovely little hotel - the three roses (or french equivvalent)
ask for a room overlooking the valley and dine on the terrace
it also has a great pool to shake off the staleness from the drive
its about a 5 hour drive from calais - empty motorway virtually all the way

The most delightful place in all of Alsace is Hotel Arnold located in Itterswiller.

It is of course very poplar and I am unsure of what specific accommodations are available but I highly recommend this hotel.
