Hello all,
We%26#39;re planning on visiting Corsica for our honeymoon during the last week of September and the first week of October. In reading through the forums I%26#39;ve notcied some allusions to things being closed after early September--is this generally the case?
Also, any recommendations places to stay would be great--something on or quite near the beach would be ideal.
Thanks in advance!

In 2006 we spent a very pleasant week 1-8 October first in Calvi and then we drove down to Bonifacio for 4 nights. The weather was sunny and warm, about 22-25 degrees, and the island was blissfully uncrowded. Both Calvi and Bonifacio had plenty of life with restaurants and shops open - although I will say some were starting to close for the season. The showcase beaches around Porto Vecchio were very quiet, sometimes only 10-12 people on them, Palombaggia had about 20 people max which for a beach that is completely mobbed in August was great.
Unless you are very unlucky with the weather, which no-one can predict these days, I think late September/early October would be perfect for a relaxing honeymoon. Places to stay on or near a beach cropped up in a recent post a few days ago (Corsica beaches ?). Recommendations will depend on your budget really as there are some seriously expensive hotels on Corsica but plenty of other options too.
